  •     I grew up playing the brawler adaptation of this story on the Sega Genesis, so this was kind of a curiosity purchase for me. The art is great, the story is fairly weak, but its saving grace is that it has tons of appearances from the Marvel stable of this era, plus lots of neat guest spots from heroes who we've seen/heard little from since. If you're familiar with the material already, or especially with the video game, I'd say this is worth the purchase. For those looking to get into Spider-Man, Carnage, or Venom--maybe start somewhere else.
  •     its a great read for old style Marvel writing. but the new style of writing has spoiled me, i was bored a lot reading this
  •     Great read. I read some of this series when I was a kid but wasn't able to finish it until a month ago. I liked it then and I definitely enjoyed finishing reading it as an adult. Ahhhhhh... nostalgia...
  •     Maximum Carnage is the best damn thing I have ever read, but its more than the fact I love Venom and Carnage as characters, the story is great, nothing drags, the moral is pretty damn good, the heroes and villains on the list are awesome, and you can seriously feel the chaos and destruction Carnage is causing, it is a comic I will happily read over and over again. I know that with comics, there is no singular place to start, but if you at least know Spidey, Venom, and Carnage, than this is a good place to start. Now I wont act like it's perfect, some dialogue is a little clumsy, but that's just nitpicking, either way, I love this comic, and I hope you like it too.
  •     I loved this comic as a kid and while it doesn't stand up the the modern standard of superhero writing (Ellis, Bandis, etc), it's still a fun '90s slaughter-fest.
  •     I read Maximum Carnage when it first came out back in the 1990's. I just bought the graphic novel and it wasn't nearly as good as I remembered.
  •     Considering I went into this wanting to see the adorable Spider-Doppelganger, I was not disappointed.
  •     A gravel novel Amy Spiderman fan would love.
  •     Great story, great art. One of my favorite Spider-Man storylines.
  •     good
  •     Before Maximum Carnage, I was a loyal and enthusiastic reader of Marvel Comics, including the 4 good-but-somewhat-redundant Spider-man books, The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man,...
  •     Could have been so much better, but they filled the story with too many secondary characters. At some points it feels like a Cloak and Dagger story with a guest appearance from Spider-Man. Still a good read, though.
  •     The people on here that gave this a low rating, siting that the story is lack luster; yes, the story is not the most ground-breaking but this is Carnage. What does Carnage do? He murders and finds other ways to break the law. Why does this story seem to repeat over 14 issues? Because Carnage will forever be locked in a battle with Spider-Man and Venom. If you like Carnage, get the book or download the digital copy, it's worth it if you appreciate the characters.
  •     The story itself is great, however the shipping and packaging leave much to be desired. It's a paperback book that now has a large crease down the middle from being folded to fit into the mail box. Should have been in a box for protection. And it arrived almost 2 weeks late because Fedex tends to bounch packages all over the country for some reason before they get delivered.
  •     Classic spiderman story. You will read for hours, this thing is hefty, hefty, hefty
