  •     Prompt service and a wonderful book.
  •     Archaeology in Britain means so much more than dinosaur bones! Several vigorous civilizations thrived there since the Stone Age. This book records many of the preliminary (3-day) digs featured on the marvelous show "Time Team"
  •     I am doing research on places in Scotland and Ireland. This has been most helpful.
  •     I watch the "Time Team" TV program and am really quite obsessed with it. I've had a cursory interest in history and archaeology, and "Time Team" really piqued my interest with fast-pacing and attempt to contextualize the information gathered from the digs. This book is a great companion to the TV program as well as a stand-alone work. It's organized by regions with a map at the beginning of each chapter. The maps help me,as someone with little knowledge of Britain's geography. I also appreciate the dates associated with each site. This is not meant to be a book for serious scholars. Some sites listed only offer a short two or three paragraph description. Others are a little more in-depth. There are plenty of photographs, both aerial and close-up, depicting the significance of each site. If you like the "Time Team" TV program, are just interested in history learned from archaeology, or perhaps planning to travel to the British Isles to experience history for yourself, this is a great book. You'll learn something from just paging through it.
  •     This book is fantastic. Tells you all the archeological places of interest. Really comprehensive and thorough and detailed. Good for those who might want to go and visit these places for themselves.
  •     This was a gift for my dad who likes time team as much as I do. I enjoyed how it reviewed several of the sites featured on the show, yet they showed artifacts that were from the site, but not on the show. A good companion to the series
  •     Excellent for planning travel.
