  •     I just received this book yesterday as a gift-just before the start of a new year. The timing was perfect because it is designed to work both as an art photo-daily calendar, and a day planner. It is 365 pages (7"x 9"), and is similar in concept to the "Word a Day," or "Quote a Day" desk calendars. What separates this from the average calendar, diary, or day planner, is its' glossy photographs of art masterpieces. On the left side of the page (top) is a short quote from a famous artist or writer, in the middle, 6 lines to write your own planned daily activities. The date is across the bottom of the page. It starts with January 1, and ends December 31st., but excludes the year. On the right side are 365 full-page photos of important art through the ages. There are numerous examples of religious and classical (Greek and Roman) art, as well as some contemporary works. Photos are good quality, but are not among the "TOP 40" masterpieces we all know so well. To use it as a planner might be a little difficult for me. Firstly, the book doesn't lay completely flat. Secondly I, personally, wouldn't enjoy recording my own daily entries, scribbles, and doodles amongst the art treasures of the world. However, others might enjoy viewing their own personal reflections. Whichever way it is used, I think everyone will agree, it is a beautiful art collection.
  •     These Art Calendars are wonderful! By not printing the day of the week (printing only Month and number (1 - 31)) these calendars can be used for years. I never get tired of looking at the beautiful art reproductions!
  •     Beautifully Done - great selections and quotes. We bought five - one to keep and four for friends!!!!!
  •     I bought this book as a present for a dear friend who enjoys all manner of art. Before I wrapped it up, I flipped through the book to find the illustrations were beautiful and the variety of art in the pages numerous. This book gives a nice glimpse into the many different types of art out there and I believe it can be appreciated by both the casually interested and art enthusiast alike.
  •     Great present for friends and for your own family delight as well. Although I prefer the version with just paintings, I really enjoyed this one.
  •     Start the day looking at a work of art. You focus on the work and wonder what part the art plays in a particular day of your life. There are works that don't fit into my definition of masterpieces. Sort of like good, better, best. Just the old "eye of the beholder.
  •     the cover was loose, but the pages are clean and clear. The book is as described and the cost was good.
