Steven Patrick Morrissey is one of the most original and controversial voices in the history of popular music.
With The Smiths, he led the most influential British guitar group of the 1980s, his enigmatic wit and style defining a generation.
As a solo artist, he has continued to broach subjects no other singer would dare.
Worshipped by some, vilified by others, Morrissey is a unique rock and roll creation.
The 300,000 words of "Mozipedia" make this the most intimate and in-depth biographical portrait of the man and his music yet.
Bringing together every song, album, collaborator, key location, every hero, book, film and record to have influenced his art, it is the summation of years of meticulous research.
Morrissey authority Simon Goddard has interviewed almost everybody of any importance, making "Mozipedia" the last word on Morrissey and The Smiths.

  •     I could seriously sit and read this book for hours, jumping between obscure (and popular) references. I am simply in awe at the amount of depth, detail, and effort that went in to the creation of this publication. It is mind-bending to appreciate how much thorough research was put in to compiling this information, and everything is written in a factual, historical manner with little or no opinion injected. I only hope that future editions are released..
  •     Simply put, this book is brilliant. Most Smiths/Morrissey publications are terrible, tacky, and painfully biased. Goddard effectively covers every possible topic influencing, tied to, and subsequently related to The Smiths and Morrissey. For a Smiths or Morrissey fan: you should already have this.
  •     Besides his autobiography, probable this is the best book ever written about Morrissey's songs. the author put in a few and simple words the origins, ideas a situation that inspired Morrissey and co-writers to create every song. No matter if you are fan or not, if you like music, you must read this book for improve your musical knowledge.
  •     This is EXACTLY the sort of book I've been looking for.All of the other books on Morrissey and the Smiths were of a biographical nature. I wanted to learn about the origins of his songs and what they meant. In this regard, the book covers everything Morrissey, including EVERY song written by Morrissey or the Smiths prior to this book's publishing. The book is well organized and very searchable. Lots of entertaining tidbits about the man and his music. As I said, this is a MUST-HAVE for the serious Morrissey fan. Don't let the cool cover fool you-- the content isn't a bunch of fluff. It is substantial. 544 pages worth!VERDICT: I am in TOTAL agreement with the rest of the reviewers for this book.Mozipedia is indeed HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
  •     So in love with this book! it taught me lots of stuff about my favorite singer that I've never known before!
  •     This is a great and interesting book. It goes into detail about many detail about Morrissey's life. I am a huge Morrissey fan, like collecting vinyl, posters, etc.
  •     Recipient really is enjoying it-
  •     Great product to give as a gift.
  •     All the information that nosy, inquisitive fans need to know. Would have been better if it had more stuff about the other band members.
  •     This is, along with the author's other book "The Smiths: Songs That Saved Your Life," the most important book ever written about Morrissey and The Smiths.
  •     I purchased one for myself and my sister (who introduced me to Moz when I was a kid) and we both absolutely loved it. There's a plethora of information directly and indirectly related to Morrissey pre and post Smiths and it's all written in a very casual style. I set mine out on the coffee table and read an entry or two whenever there's a free moment. It's a great purchase for a fan of The Smiths and/or Morrissey who also happens to be a bit of a knowledge junky.
  •     Love the book, however after just a few days of reading it. the picture part pulled away from the binding. :(
  •     Excellent quality!
  •     It's not everything you ever wanted to know about Morrissey, but there's a lot of useful information here. The big emphasis is on the history of songs and albums, with each cultural reference researched and illuminated. It helps you figure out where that sample came from, which 70s track that riff was inspired by, and why Moz used 'Sheridan Whiteside' as an alias on hotel registers. A must have for Morrissey trivia games.
  •     This is way more than I expected! Really pleased with the amount of information in here and the depth each entry goes into. The photographs alone are worth the price. I can only imagine the amount of hard work that went into this. I wish I had picked this up sooner.
  •     Finally, a Morrissey reference book worth reading that is simple, yet very informative on every level of the man. This is in no way a boring or dull book with too much wit writing from authors attempting to out do each other. The author, Simon Goddard has reached out to those desiring a Morrissey song by song listing and detail while with the Smiths and onto his solo career. Additionally, this book includes so much more insights to topics/subject matters that have been associated or of interest to Morrissey throughout his life. Mozipedia is worth owning.
