  •     almost no markings. book like new. great value
  •     Bought on behalf of a friend of mine at home town. He is studying medicine. He will be a great doctor.
  •     I am a fan of the Oxford Handbook Series, however I am realizing that there are stark contrasts between the British series and the American one. This volume, furthermore, is apparently laden with unforgivable errors that are unbefitting of any professional medical work. Listing Homans's sign (additionally misspelt as "Homan's") as a sign of DVT is one thing (p. 112). Writing that there "is no vaccine" against hepatitis A (p.178) is yet more distressing, and seriously calls into question the validity of the entire work. To add insult to injury, the editors are extremely choosy in their responses to correspondence alerting them of such errors, and do not seem to demonstrate any genuine interest in correcting the work.
