  •     Very nice cover. However I requested an Italian version not an English version
  •     in a bible ebook, navigation is a key feature. here it's relatively easy to get around in the book, and links are given to background notes and individual chapters. There are also scriptural cross references, which I was happy to see but have not used intentionally yet. I accidentally touched one and had to use the back arrow in the top menu.As far as the translation and definitions(provided in brackets) and elucidations(also provided in brackets) go, this bible yearns to make things clear. For my tastes and level of education, this version really made things a lot clearer. I was told by my pastor to stick with the King James Version, and largely I do, but I keep this one on my kindle as a guilty pleasure.And the price is great! I got my copy for 99 cents!
  •     This is the 2nd time I've bought this Bible. I don't read Hebrew or Greek, so it's nice to have the extra nuances of the words there on the page. It can get monotonous to keep re-reading the same set of expansion words over and over, but I just use the repetitions to slow down the text and think about the expansion words and how they relate to their particular verses. Don't just assume all the expansion words fit the context every time because they don't. The print size in this Bible is large enough to read with ease, and this version comes with some nice helps and maps at the end of the book. This version also does introductions to each individual book which is nice. I bought the hardback because I've found some of the new paperback Bibles just aren't sturdy enough to stand up to heavy use. I don't think this Bible does much in footnotes and cross-references, but it's a really nice Bible to just sit and read.

  •     I love the literal translation, many sources say this is the most difficult to read, honestly I think it is pretty easy to read.
  •     Interesting version of the Bible, actually close to the King James in interpretation ( which I love for its strength) and includes original language meanings ( ie Greek) within the passage which is helpful. Examples : Hebrews 13:5 Amplified Bible ---"Let your character or moral disposition be free from LOVE of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present circumstances and with what you have; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will] not, will not, in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down or relax My hold on you! "John 14:16 "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.18 “I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, bereaved, and helpless]; I will come [back] to you. "

  •     I've been searching for the Amplified Bible version we use in church and I finally have it. 100% pleased with my purchase.
  •     Thanks to Joyce Meyer I became aquainted with this unique translation of the Holy Scriptures. It's my favorite version for times when I just want to read scripture and not study, or when I want to follow along with Joyce. Be aware that there are very few footnotes or cross references and no concordance or subject index (amplified bible, large print by Zondervan). I only bought this version because it is large print. Faithwords publishes the Joyce Meyer amplified study Bible, which I prefer, because I like the added articles by Joyce. I am not a fan of Zondervan publishing. They have their hands in pornography and the new NIV which is gender neutral and leaves out critical scripture. For example, 1 John chapter 4:2-3 in the King James (my favorite) and the amplified Bible the scripture states "And every spirit which does not acknowledge and confess that Jesus Christ has COME IN THE FLESH is not of God." By contrast, the new NIV removes this critical scripture! I feel confident in the amplified translation, just not Zondervan. So, if you want a copy of the amplified Bible get the Joyce Meyer Everyday Life Amplified Bible and support Faithwords instead. The text size is not bad at all when compared to the Zondervan large print. I will be selling my Zondervan bibles...
  •     I absolutely love this Bible! The Amplified Bible is such a help in interpreting scripture! The meaning of the verses comes out so clear. I wish I had ordered this years ago!I especially like this edition because it has a hard cover, so it much more durable and will last for years and years. It has a font size that is comfortable to read (there is a paperback version of the Amplified Bible that has the tiniest print imaginable - avoid that one!). There is a nice section in the back that contains helpful maps and a word concordance. The binding is tight and durable. There is also a dedication page in the front, so this would make an excellent gift as well.This is the best purchase of Biblical literature I have made this year.If you love to read and study the Bible, you absolutely need this Amplified Bible. It will truly bless your life with deeper understanding of God's word.kone
  •     The two stars are not for the Bible itself - God's Word gets millions of stars. This is for the e-book version I put on my Kindle several years ago. First, the good: Very helpful chapter introductions, very helpful references throughout the scriptures. I love the amplification, which often makes a word or phrase come more alive in my mind. The bad: Once a book is selected, there is no way to find chapters and verses except to keep turning pages until it's located ... ARGHH! The ugly: On my Kindle, the maps are useless - they are hazy, making it impossible to locate anything small (such as the names of cities). For me, this Book needs to be in physical form to be useful. I really hate to have to give this e-book such a low rating, but it is what it is.
