  •     I cannot imagine a more complete Bible Study than John MacArthur's edition. Also I cannot imagine any other single reference tome to contain so much information for the price of this one. It is truly a must for any serious Bible student or potential Bible student. It is beautifully bound in a leatherette cover.
  •     John spent years writing this commentary and there are 10,000s of footnotes and maps. I love the way John uses factual references to Greek translations and such to convey fundamental principles. Certainly there are more detailed commentaries but I don't like to read two chapters of opinion on a bible verse. Rather I like how John provides as pertinent information, such a Greek translation inferences, with each verse. John is considered a Calvinist, learned reformed fundamentalist, has authored or edited more than 150 books, and has acted as president of The Master's College since 1985. I love his insight into theology and biblical concepts, and I am certain that he has carefully concerned every detail that he presents as a companion to scripture. Everything he presents will track with his Calvinist / reformed thinking, because his teaching are thoroughly consistent with how he knows and serves the Lord in every thing he does. To me, John's life has been dedicated to learning about God and this study bible is an enormously helpful guide in my walk with Christ.
  •     I purchased this Bible as a gift to someone who is new to Christ and doesn't know where all the books are. Well, we all know what is said about assuming things. I assumed that since this was a "signature series", it would be Red Letter (word's of Jesus/Christ in red) and thumb indexed. I assumed wrong. Other than that, this is a beautiful Bible.
  •     Arrived on time and is worth the wait. MacArthur's notes are invaluable to the study of God's Word explaining those things from history, the original languages thereby making it easier to understand. We gave this as a gift to one of our granddaughters who desires to study God's Word. She appreciated it very much.
  •     Excellent
  •     Great!
  •     Beautiful Bible just absolutely love it. All I possibly wanted!!
  •     Bought this Bible because the price was reasonable. The condition was purported to be Very Good condition but used. When received this Bible was flawless...
  •     So far good
  •     Exactly what I was looking for, and more!!
  •     I have had many study Bibles, but this is far the best. It combines Scripture with both a concordance, extensive cross-referencing, and MacArthur's own commentary. It goes to great length to explore the meaning of words and phrases through their original languages. I highly recommend this Bible to anyone serious about studying (not just reading) God's Word.
  •     This is an amazing Bible! I love it! It has a lot of great resources in it!
  •     Item arrived in time for our daughter-in-law's birthday and she/we were very pleased with it.
  •     The commentary notes in this Bible are very helpful. My wife and I each have a MacArthur Study Bible. This particular purchase was a gift for a friend. She loves it as much as we do. Too many churches today presuppose their theology and then interpret their Bibles to justify their theology. MacArthur does a good job of determining what the Bible is actually saying to its intended audience in its historical setting and deriving theology from God's word -- what a concept!
  •     This is a really good study Bible. The turquoise light blue comes in beautiful soft leather (though it can get dirty if not taken care of).The study notes are perfect for a new believer or someone interested in learning more about the Bible. Each Bible book has an overview at the beginning which is really useful to put the book into historical context while also learning about the authorship, setting, and context in which it was written. The introductions discuss the focal verses and most important takeaways from each book (from a theological perspective). The book is a little heavy but Iearned a lot about the commentaries. One should know that MacArthur's slant is reformed Presbyterian (neo-Calvinist)....he uses terminology like "the elect", "total depravity", and "predestination". He also discusses eschatology.
  •     I have used my copy for many years and value it so much I ordered this copy for my grandson, who loves God's Word. This book's commentary explains many things that broaden understanding and it sends you to other passages to gain insight into what you have read. If you grew up loving the King James Bible, this New King James translation is comforting while being more readable today. It blesses me each day!
  •     We love this Bible. The NASB is a classic and a favorite. It was quick delivery and we will order again.
