  •     I am VERY disappointed. The author copy pastes some famous quotes, then adds a lot of pointless, self repetitive, empty banalities and cliches to them...
  •     It had taken me almost a decade after cancer to realize the life I was working hard to get back to, was in fact the one I did not want. My family and my career are blessings. I thought I was on the path; I was wrong, it was not good enough, it did not pass muster. What I needed was to shed the frustrations of work, over-work, political and religious traps and the people in my life that do not live a life of Honor. I work to surround myself with those who know the Way, and those I can look up to and learn from. I made the commitment for a life change recently and this path also led me to Bohdi Sanders, who added the conviction, literature and real life wisdom to reinforce positive life changes.I have six of Bohdi Sander’s books so far and my wife, a martial arts instructor of Tang-Soo-Do, enjoy and reference them constantly. And these are not books exclusively for martial artists. Also, regardless of your religious affiliation, you will find that these teachings will fit nicely into your life without compromising your faith-I am Christian and I find all of this wisdom reinforces my faith. These are books that serve as guide books and reference books for living a life of honor – keep them handy as you will want to go back to them time and again. I also enjoy Bohdi Sanders’ website and frequent Facebook posts as they fortify your day and reinforce your convictions. If you can bear it, Live a Life of Honor, read these books and pass your honor forward in daily life. I highly recommend it.
  •     Lots of wisdom here.
  •     An eye opener to human nature and the need to be cautious in today's world. A great book to refer to time and again!
  •     If any single phrase or quote could sum up the meaning and purpose of Dr. Bohdi Sander’s book “Defensive Living” it would be this one.
  •     I could not put this book down. He has numerous quotes from an Italian statesman named Fransesco Guicciardini a friend and contemporary of Niccolo Machiavelli, who wrote an...
  •     This is not based on real life. This is a book about paranoia and fear. Who wants to live like this, seriously? And why be defensive about life?
  •     This isn't a huge book, but it does contain a walloping dose of good, old-fashioned common sense. (There is, in fact, such a thing as a stupid question!
  •     This Book is MANDATORY for all Fathers to give to the their sons and daughters, now a solid religous upbringing is mandatory in my book but from that foundationthe lessons learned in this book are all the things you say when growing up from 18 to 35yrs "I wish someone had told me or warned me about that"as you get older you realize it's the social networking rules, and strategy in the workplace that gets you far or helps you to control an otherwisebad situation, or if you have a job that flat out sucks (not your passion, as the main theme these days) then you will learn what NOT TO DOso that you can make a plan and tolerate where you are at until your ship sales in.Some of the items are no brainers, but then again common sense is just that. But more often than not I find that Common sense is becoming very Uncommon these days, perhaps due to parents not teaching these rules or lack of communication in the home. Nevertheless you will do someone a huge favor by having them read this 3 or 4 times,I GUARANTEE you they will come across the majority of these rules or situations and having this as a Blue Print on what to do will be Invaluable,There is nothing NEW in life that we are going to experience that someone else before us has not, it's passing on these Gems of Wisdom from the school of Hard Knoxthat can help you avoid most of the pitfalls that are ahead of all of us at some point or another. There is no escaping trials, but there is proper planning to make it easy to walk around a road block instead of crashing through it.
  •     this is a book that I need everybody to read! Not only did I practice and utilize physical self-defense, this book has taught me the true meaning of self-defense in a deeper...
  •     I found all the information useful. At times, tough to read, but there are many thought provoking pages. I say a must read for anyone looking to be as better leader/person.
  •     When you read this book you will quickly understand why Dr. Sanders is in the Best Sellers category. The tips and strategies in this book will lead you to a long safe and healthy life. It is much more than self-defense. The information on what to look for and avoid in dangerous relationships alone was worth purchasing this book. This kind of writing is the reason that I have started getting all of Dr. Bohdi Sanders books.
  •     In sharp contrast to Dr. Sanders other books, "Defensive Living" is not so much about a personal standard of conduct or morality but more about the philosophies that people that you encounter in life might adhere to. The Warrior Wisdom series illuminate a path that one should try to walk while striving to live an honorable life here on Earth. "Defensive Living" is more about understanding the driving forces behind those that would seek to dislodge you from that path.Again, the variety, depth and timelessness of the principles presented are impressive. What caught my attention more than once was that while reading a quote from hundreds of years ago I was able to point to several instances in the last week that lent credence to the authors point. I put the book down several times and shook my head and said "So that is why he/she/they did that... and got away with it." I have spent my life seeking and studying to be the most upright and decent person I can be. It turns out there are other schools and schools of thought that literally promote a "Get your piece of the pie regardless of the cost." curriculum out there.I have enjoyed all of Dr. Sanders books because they help encourage me and inspire me on my chosen path. This book I found particularly helpful because it helped me gain insight into many mysteries I have encountered along the way in the behavior of others. When someone does something so outlandishly horrible or selfish instead of beating myself up trying to understand why, I can now somewhat see that they were taught that or shown that by someone else. It's another school of thought. I am not going to pass judgment, but I am better able to understand their motivation or mind set and possibly guard against it, predict it, disarm it before it damages me or those I care about. For filling in some of that piece of the puzzle I am grateful to Dr. Sanders and this book. I really recommend it.

  •     Things everyone must learn about people. I teach physical self-defense and this book is a wonderful tool that steps out to describe the other important aspect of other threats.
