  •     DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! Full of inconsistencies, repetitiveness, and over used worn out cliché's. Written by a claimed educated person, with sixth grade writing skills. The "author" is an opinionated, narcissistic dumbass. His ability to sail around the world, if he really did, lends itself to "another old saying", "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while". I would really love to read the version his wife at the time, Bonnie, would write, bet it would tell an entirely different story. If racism, male chauvinism, political BS and flat out crapola is your thing, read it, if not, leave it and move on. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!!
  •     The first third of fhe book wants bad, but once they get in to fhe south pacific the story goes down hill from there. Overall there are much better true sailing stories.
  •     This book is an interesting read about a couple who fulfilled their dream of sailing around the world. The author tells an interesting tale of their travels and the reader can vicariously feel the wind in the sails, the smell of the ocean, and the encounters with people they met along the way.The book is easy to read and follow, and shares a mostly pleasant life changing experience. Makes you wish you had done the journey with them, especially as the author describes the various islands and people met along the way. When hurricanes and high waves hit, you can feel the boat rocking under the wind. The book also outlines all the preparations necessary to safely and successfully make this journey. The publisher should have edited the book more carefully to eliminate typos, but other than that, the book is a tale of a life's journey most of us wouldn't have had the courage to take.
