  •     I exclusively play this game every weekend and have mastered its complexity if anyone has questions that cannot be answered by this book I can answer.
  •     Perhaps if I were a long-time Arduin aficionado I'd better appreciate this book, but as a newcomer I found reading through this massive tome and trying to suss out its systems a chore. More than that though, I couldn't imagine trying to convince the people I game with, that aren't steeped in Arduin tradition, to pick it up and play it. So I suppose you can take this as a newcomers impression of the game; perhaps one who doesn't have enough time anymore to really sit down and dig into an 824 page role-playing book and give it it's proper due.Pros: A ton of content and a myriad of options and lore crammed into a single book. Plenty of ideas and stuff I can see nicking and borrowing to plug into other games.Cons: Grokking how the system works and plays with people who aren't Arduin fans may be tough, also the binding is a little underwhelming - it's casebound (glued) instead of signature stitched; for the price and its heft I wonder how well it will hold up over the years?
  •     All of Arduin the RPG in one place. Re-imagined and cleaned up. Well worth the price.
  •     I have been playing RPG's for about 20 years and this is a great system. Like most people will say it does have outstanding customization rules with character creation. Far better than any I have seen. On the flip side it is very in depth and you will defiantly need a little bit of patients at first. But once the table starts getting used to the rules, it runs very smooth. I would recommend this to any hard core roll player.
  •     As an avid role player from even before AD&D I have seen many game systems come and go. I have to say that this is by far the best one so far. If you enjoy character development this is definately the game for you. The skill based system is more balanced than any of the others I have tried in the past. Whatever game world you play, make the system Arduin!
  •     Too bad it only goes up to five stars....I have been playing tabletop RPGs for almost 40 years, and this is (by far) the best game system I have ever encountered. Customization of characters is unbelievable, no cookie cutter characters here unless you deliberately build one that way. A truly unique skill system, that handles any situation that could conceivably come up. Awesome combat and Magick systems that are both playable and believable. Down sides: complexity means this is NOT a game for idiots. Like most of the older games these rules are written assuming you have a decent education backing up your intelligence and imagination. If your playstyle favors "charge in without thinking", you will probably go through a lot of characters really fast. Combat can be quite lethal in Arduin. Magick is dangerous, both to the target, and sometimes to the user. And best of all is the gameworld. In all my years playing I have never encountered a more in-depth world than Khaas (Arduin is just a single country in this world). Truly a world where anything can happen, and it will.
  •     I have played the 2nd, 3rd and 3.5 editions of D&D. I am new to the Arduin setting. It is a little complicated at first, but learning the system is well worth it. In my opinion it is the most gratifying rule set I have come across. The sky is the limit to how customizable your character is. If you are looking for a new game that leaves every other table top in the dust I strongly recommend Arduin Eternal.
